NACRÉ (nuh kr \e\)

Add the accent aigu and you get a different pronunciation. However, the meaning behind the name doesn’t change. The pearl is comprised totally out of nacre - strong and resilient, believed to attract prosperity, divine wisdom and intuition.

The Mother of Pearl has a gentle healing power of soothing fear to which gives clarity in decision making - a harmonious blend of adaptability and sensitivity. Just the way my mother’s name defines her strength and resilience in which she has instilled in me, I found the courage to open this space exclusively for you, a space where you can look and feel your most confident self.

Welcome to NACRÉ Hair Studio!

With love, Sherrie.

Sherrie: “I want keep my guests feeling lively and most of all, feeling good. So, I’m constantly trying to discover what’s current with the latest styles and trends. You’ve probably heard this before - ‘If you look good, you feel good!’ and if I can help you achieve the look you want, I want you to feel the best you've ever felt!”

Britney: “Growing up with traditional parents, the hair industry wasn’t the ideal career. However, I took the chance at a leap of faith because I couldn’t see myself in any other industry. I hope to inspire others to also find their calling; to discover and follow their passion in life. I love getting dolled up feeling glamorous, and that’s exactly how I want you to feel after leaving my chair!”

Sherrie Ancheta - Owner/Hairstylist

I am a licensed, red seal stylist for 6+ years now. I moved to Toronto in March of 2018 in hopes to further pursue my career in the Hairstyling Industry. I always loved the idea of a hustle and bustle environment and well, why not move to Toronto? Here I am, 4 years later. I was born and raised in Winnipeg, Mb. where Instagram’s most well-known hairstylists such as @hairbyamberjoy, @josievilay, @hairbymisskellyo, @stevenmathew, @abbeybrooke and @famos reside - some of which I had the pleasure of working with! Now that I am living life in a bigger city I am surrounded by ample opportunities in which led me to having the experience of working at one of the most trendy salons in the Yonge and Eglinton area. I progressed quickly in growing my clientele in just a span of one year (shout out to all of my day one clients)! I promise, hard work and dedication, with a little bit of stepping out of your comfort zone, you will get further than you could imagine. I have worked with some of Toronto’s best women DJs, content creators and entrepreneurs. In 2018, I had the opportunity to take part in collaborating sponsorship for the Raptor’s Northside Crew where I became lead stylist for the following year and a half - the year we won championship, baby! Later in 2019, was invited to become a Redken Shades EQ advocate and most recently had the pleasure of hosting @philicalyhair Beaded Row/Flip Up Extension Class with @abbeybrooke and @braxtonthomashair in my own studio space! Fast forward to 2023, I am now the proud owner of Nacré Hair Studio Inc., located west of downtown Toronto.

Britney Huynh - Hairstylist

I’ve always been passionate about aesthetics & fashion since I was young which I think subconsciously led me to start my career path in hairstyling. I chose to attend school in Toronto because of the diversity, culture and appeal the city has to offer. I attended Aveda Institute right after I graduated high school in September 2019 then graduated in June 2020. Luckily, Sherrie acknowledged my enthusiasm to establish myself in this industry and has been mentoring me since. I’ve been learning her techniques and skills as shown through my work and continuously follow up with current trends. As an aspiring hairstylist of 2+ years - I’m excited to see our endeavours with Nacré Hair Studio Inc. where we are located right in the heart of Toronto. I can’t wait to see you in my chair - whether you’ve already met me or just considering. The support I’ve received and continue receiving, even before attending school, feels surreal. I’m so grateful for this opportunity!
